Pictured nearing completion is our conversion of a stable dating from the 1890s for use as a one-bedroom/one-bath guest apartment over a pool house and garage. The original building was built rather like a circus tent made out of wood —— it shook in the wind, which didn't trouble the horses. The renovated structure is powerfully built and insulated very nearly to Passive House standards with heat recovery ventilation to freshen the air-tight envelope.
