Our full renovation of and addition to a modest shingled frame dwelling (built in 1885) maximizes accessibility and potential one-story living to serve the owner’s ultimate objective of aging in place. The new screened porch is a tall volume that presents a bravura black-and-silver face to the garden. Most of the addition is clad in corrugated galvanized metal, in the manner of the tough, artisanal Tin Houses in the arts districts of Venice Beach CA and Houston TX
