Our house at 389 Ridgewood Avenue in Glen Ridge has come to market. In addition to our work on the ground floor in 2009—which included a new enlarged kitchen and restoration of the original white oak inglenook, we thoroughly reorganized and rationalized the second floor bedrooms, and renewed all of the bathrooms. We raised the ceiling in the front porch and renewed its trim, to allow a generous welcoming hanging light fixture to replace the flush glass plate of the original. We assiduously restored the original windows with their leaded glass. All of them operate, and with their storms perform about as well thermally as would inappropriate insulating replacements. This is a serious house, one of quality and character, quietly enhanced by Wright & Robinson Architects. We would love a crack at the unimproved carriage house!
